Abstract:
State legislatures are responsible for making laws on key subjects like land, police and health. They are also tasked with approving the expenditure of money for their respective states every year. This note examines certain aspects related to the functioning of state legislatures, and ways in which they can be strengthened. [PRS Discussion Paper].
