Issues Relating to 3rd Phase of Private FM Radio Broadcasting

Abstract: The first phase of private sector involvement in FM radio broadcasting was launched by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India vide its notification in year 1999. Based on the experience of phase I, Government introduced phase II scheme with certain modifications on 13th July 2005. Country wide spread of FM, the subjects relating to FDI, permitting News and current affairs, networking in FM broadcasting, and reduction of license fee in certain identified areas also need to be addressed.
