Working Papers from eSocialSciences
Abstract:
A study of the women dacoits of the Chambal valley was undertaken to determine what special circumstances exist which pressurize women to take up dacoity, or whether these outlaws had a psychopathic disposition. The study sample consisted of 30 women dacoits from 8 districts in the state of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, and 100 normals (non-criminals) from each district in the same region.
