Abstract:
The HUNGaMA (Hunger and M alnutrition) S urvey conducted across 112 rural districts of India in 2011 provides r eliable estimates of c hild n utrition covering nearly 20% of Indian children. The H UNGaMA S urvey shows that p ositive change for child nutrition in India is happening, including in t he 1 00 F ocus D istricts. However rates of child malnutrition are still unacceptably high particularly i n these Focus Districts where over 40 per cent of children are underweight and almost 60 per cent are stunted.
