Abstract:
The type, volume, and mode of transfer of remittances in Uttarakhand is analysed. The impact of remittances, in terms of both financial flows and transfer of new skills and the perceptions in relation to poverty, development, and gender are studied. The study focused on the hill state of Uttarakhand. Primary data were collected from six villages, two from each of the three districts of Bageshwar, Chamoli, and Tehri Garhwal. [ICIMOD Report].
