Abstract:
The Central government evolved a computerization policy in 2007 to speed up the cases in the courts, hitherto proceeding at a ‘tortoise pace’. It was called ‘E-Courts Mission Mode Project’. Its objective is to put all courts in India on an electronic mode and link their activities through a network of computers. The central government bore the initial capital investment costs. The High Courts were advised to approach the concerned State governments and raise funds required for continuing maintenance.
