Abstract: The mandate of AYUSH Department encompasses seven key areas of activity and intervention, namely AYUSH services, Medicinal Plants, Research & Development, Human Resource Development, International Collaboration, IEC and Drug administration. The prime functions of the Department are aimed at improving health delivery mechanism in terms of quality & outreach, enforcement of educational standards, quality assurance & effective regulation of drugs, fostering collaborative & interdisciplinary AYUSH research of contemporary relevance, awareness building both within and outside the country, mainstreaming of AYUSH in health delivery system and development of properly trained and professionally competent AYUSH workforce.
