Managing Rice Value Chain for Improved Food Security in Bangladesh

Abstract: This Policy Brief utilizes the concept of value chain management as the basis of improving the competitive advantage of the rice sector for promoting food security in Bangladesh. For analyzing the issues, the study examines two important concerns related to food security in Bangladesh role of rice in ensuring the country’s food security in the midst of fundamental changes in marketing and distribution of rice in a transitional economy; and potential of utilizing value chain management in improving competitive advantage of the rice sector which can create significant positive impact on food security.
