Abstract:
This paper compares the different ways in which Self Help Promotion Institutions (SHPIs) promote Self Help Groups (SHGs) with an aim of enhancing the efficiency and quality of the SHG promotion process and thus improving the extent and level of financial service provision to rural people now without access to formal financial services. It also provides data for future design and implementation of programmes promoting SHGs.
