HAQ Centre for Child Rights Haqcrc

Working Papers from eSocialSciences

Abstract: Budgets are the most solid expression of a government’s priorities, performances, decisions and intentions both at the national as well as the level of the states. This budget for children (BfC) in Meghalaya analysis is an attempt to understand the financial priorities of the government in regard to its commitments for the children in the state. The question being asked is how far has the Government been able to keep its promises towards the rights of the children through adequate budgetary provisions in the 2015-2016 state budget?
