Abstract:
This paper, one among a series for the Jan Swasthya Abhiyan addresses the issue of the impact of globalisation on health. How has globalisation affected different countries and who are the winners and losers in globalisation? How does it impact on health? Has the cost of health care been driven upwards under globalisation? Have communicable diseases spread faster now than before? The paper also discusses medical tourism, an emerging phenomenon.
