Abstract: The present paper titled Public Expenditure, Employment and Poverty in Bangladesh An Empirical Analysis has been prepared under the CPD-UNDP collaboration programme on Pro-Poor Macroeconomic Policies which is aimed at developing pro-poor macroeconomic policies in the context of Bangladesh through research and dissemination. The research papers under the current programme attempt to examine the impact of various macroeconomic policies on poverty alleviation and to establish benchmarks for poverty reduction strategies. The outputs of the programme have been made available to all stakeholder groups including the government and policymakers, entrepreneurs and business leaders, and trade and development partners.
