Abstract: President Pianalto spoke about some of the economic challenges facing the U.S. and explained why the outlook for this year will be strongly influenced by developments in the housing and financial markets. She described some forces that will lead us into economic recovery. She also discussed the Federal Reserve?s strategy for dealing with the challenges we are facing.
