IFPRI Malawi maize market report, April 2026

International Food Policy Research Institute and Anderson Benson

MaSSP reports from International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)

Abstract: Average retail prices of maize declined by most measures, with lowest prices registered in the Southern Region. Driven by increased domestic supply of newly harvested maize and cheap imports, maize retailed mostly below the government-mandated minimum farmgate price.
