Myopic Altruism and Intergenerational Transfers

Stéphane Lambrecht

G.R.E.Q.A.M. from Universite Aix-Marseille III

Abstract: We build an OLG model with productive capital in which agents live for two periods and display myopia in their altruistic bequest motive. Indeed , they care for their children's welfare like Barro-Becker altruists but what they value is income. A govern, emt redistributes income from the young to the old in a lump-sum way.
