Abstract: L'objectif general de cet article est de parler des tensions qui emergent des engagements de l'Union Europenne (UE) envers la cohesion et la solidarite sociale, ainsi que de l'heterogeneite qui caracterise les geographies humaines de l'Union. Dans ce but, nous adoptons des perspectives a la fois economiques et culturelles, qui, en elles-memes, contiennent aussi des tensions irresolues.
