Transitions from School to Work and the Early Labour Market Experience

Abstract: The organisation of the paper is as follows. Section II provides a short review of the job search and job-match theory, together with a discussion of previous empirical findings. In Section III, we give a brief description of some institutional features of the Norwegian educational system and the Norwegian labour market. The econometric model and estimation procedure are given is Section IV. A brief data description follows in Section V along with some summary statistics. In Section VI, we present our empirical results, while some concluding remarks are made in Section VII.
