Lecture Notes on Two-Period Models in Macroeconomics

Abstract: These lecture notes have been prepared as a preliminary material for the first year graduate students attending the ocre macro course in the Finnish Postgraduate Programme in Economics. The notes should make it easier for students to acquaint themselves with the overlapping generations models in macroeconomic theory. The following topics are covered in these notes: Price systems, preferences, model of exchange economy, model of production economy, fiscal policy, multiple equilibria, time consistency, and three-period model.
