Continuity and Change in Teachers' Employment: Old Conditions under New Labour

G. Healy and M. Calveley

Working Papers from University of Hertfordshire - Business Schoool

Abstract: The election of the Labour Party to Government of the UK in may 1997 heralded a potential watershed in British education. The rhetoric of the new Government is to prioritise 'education, education, education'. This strong public policy stance on education initiates that May 1997 may shape the educational agenda in the UK beyond the Millenium.
