Gendered Leisure Spaces: A Case Study of the Young Tourist

Abstract: This paper studies the use of leisure spaces by young men and women tourists in both their home and holiday environments. It is based on information collected from young tourists during their holiday in the beach-oriented resort of Torquay, in Southwest England. This work is required because of the importance of the young tourist to the tourism industry.
