Working Papers from LIRHE - Universite des sciences sociales Toulouse
Abstract:
Using two French retrospective surveys conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, we compile job databases to examine the role of the internal labor market in internal promotions. The internal labor market is shown to dominate the External Labor Market for access to the most highly skilled jobs. The results are consistent with the tournament models.
