Working Papers from Melbourne - Centre in Finance
Abstract:
This paper analyses the conditions for sino-Australian joint ventures, assesses those likely to be most suitable and retionalises the characteristics of existing joint ventures in the Peoples's Republic of China. Due to differing social systems and cultures between the West and the PRC Western investors may be reluctant to invest in China and those that do may face uncertainties as to the outcome or progress of their investment. This paper may help to alleviate the effects of certain psychological barriers and indeed, may have a positive impact by identifiying certain success factors for the conduct of joint ventures in the PRC.
