Working Papers from New South Wales - School of Economics
Abstract:
regional integration appears to have displaced the multilateral process as a means of liberalising trade in the world economy. Does the pursuit of regional agreements undermine the multilateral process of trade liberalisation embodied in the GATT? In this paper we develop a theoretical framework exploring the optimal size of trade blocs.
