Abstract: Tomorrow's world will be an urban world. The ongoing urbanization process represents, both in scale and consequence, an unprecedented phenomenon in the history of making. Not only will the majority of the world's population live in an urban environment, but big mega-cities continue to grow, and in the political arena, cities are becoming key actors in the national and global societies.
