Family office: a new category in family business research?

Abstract: This article aims to study the evolution of research into the concept, implementation and development of Family Offices (FOs). This organizational structure is usually analyzed in the Family Governance category (FG) as one of the management mechanisms available to entrepreneurial families. Although of great interest from both academic and management viewpoints, the study of FOs, which lies within the literature on Family Business (FB), is still at an early stage.
