Error in Measurement Theory

Dino Borie ()

No 2016-09, GREDEG Working Papers from Groupe de REcherche en Droit, Economie, Gestion (GREDEG CNRS), Université Côte d'Azur, France

Abstract: In the standard theory of extensive measurement, a set of assumptions, or qualitative axioms, are formulated in terms of an ordering and a concatenation operation that lead to a deterministic additive scale unique up to a positive similarity transformation. In this paper, we extend the qualitative primitives of the theory of extensive measurement in such a way that the objects of the domain are represented by random variables and their expectations.
