Grade Inflation at the University of Hawaii-Manoa

Abstract: I found that the University has experienced modest grade inflation over the past twelve years but the rate of inflation has been considerably low relative to other universities. In addition, I failed to find clear evidence of a widening interdepartmental gap, which is often referred to as being a nationwide phenomenon. Interestingly, the mean grades of female students have been consistently higher than those of male students at all course levels and for each of the eight selected departments in all semesters, and this gender gap seems to be widening.
