Abstract: This article deals with the feasible lands cape evaluation techniques for helping the public decision. A first part, set out the geographical and ecological works on lands cape evaluation. ft demonstrates the great heterogeneity measures and the ir incapacity of those techniques lead us to emphasize the great interest of the economie valuation methods. That why the second part studies the travel cost method and hedonic priee method and nevertheless show that these methods are not relevant for the public decision-maker. In the third part, the contingent valuation method is exposed. This fast method appears to be satisfactory for the decision-maker and easy to apply. So the landscape valuation is difficult but not impossible.
