Abstract:
We trace the origins and the transformations of the activities and scientific contributions of the Groupement de Recherche Européen (GDRE) in Money, Banking and Finance, particularly its annual International Symposium and its workshops. We highlight its role in bridging French and international researchers as well as training PhD students amid the evolving transformations of monetary and financing systems over the last 40 years. The GDRE's facilitated publications and policy insights, still delivered in this special issue for its 40th international symposium.
