Abstract: The qualitative study presented in this article allowed us to develop a conceptual framework, with a view to show the answering process of net surfers when being asked personal data on the web. Beyond individual and situational variables, this framework brings in several mediatory variables (including the perceived consequences of the data request) and emphasis the wide range of answering strategies.
