Abstract:
Collaboration within virtual teams is mainly supported by knowledge sharing. During the last decade, virtual teams and their characteristics aroused the interest of many researchers. However, few studies have dealt with the characteristics of the collaboration within virtual teams. Starting from an analysis of the literature on management information systems studies dealing with collaboration within virtual teams, this paper suggests a theoretical framework for an efficient collaboration based on knowledge sharing. This literature review reveals many research perspectives related to the context, technological support and managerial ways that structure the collaboration based on knowledge sharing.
