Abstract:
Institutional work provides a useful stance for coming to grips with the conflictual, complex and collective character of the interaction between the actors and their institutional environment. This paper is twofold. First, we take a critical stance at the evolution of institutional theory over the last three decades and thus make more explicit the origins of the institutional work notion. Second we presents the insights allowed by the notion of institutional work and the research directions it suggests for coporate strategy.
