Abstract:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) still largely remains forgotten in the world of French Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Among the social topics of the CSR, the one of diversity appears from now on at the head of the leaders' and managers' concerns. Is this collective awakening a sign of a revival of managerial practices or a simple marketing argument for concerned companies of their image? In other words, can diversity management be considered as a tool for performance? This paper aims at investigating these questions. The case of a small company located in Northern France is used as an illustration. Our findings underline the reality of diversity management as a factor of performance in SMEs.
