Abstract:
This paper discusses the role played by the regional incubator in order to support people who have a project of company founding. Can the regional incubator really be a helpful complement or, on the contrary, is it only a new structure which complicates the national French landscape around the potential company-founders ? Our reflexion is based on the case of the regional incubator in Champagne-Ardenne and of the company called Verre Nature which was the first officially example of company-project in the regional incubator. The structure of the regional incubator is presented in its local economic context in the first part which also includes some first results and perspectives. The second part of the paper develops the case Verre Nature and, especially, the role of a catalyst played by the regio nal incubator in this entrepreneurial process. Its effect only constitutes one necessary element to facilitate the process, but not sufficient. To create a very small company is a quite complicated process with a feeling of "post-creation blues".
