Abstract: We consider how contemporary marketplace cultures emerge and unfold in the accelerated tensions of cultural capital and the proliferation of access through digitalization and the global reach of the internet. Our context is the negotiation between producers/consumers in the emergent and vibrant scene of an electronic music genre called dubstep.
