Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyse the stakeholder involvement process in social certification projects. It aims to present a new general and realistic model for stakeholder involvement mechanisms. The abundant literature dealing with the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR), social certifications and stakeholder theory prompted us to analyse each concept before creating a new model. In fact, we conduct an in-depth literature review in order to understand the issue at hand. Then, the model of stakeholder involvement is presented taking into account the different theoretical approaches previously defined in the literature review.
