Abstract: This e-reference work (with a 2-volume print version) contains approximately 350 signed entries with cross-references and suggestions for further readings, along with approximately 40 media clips. Although organized in A-to-Z fashion, a thematic Reader's Guide in the front matter groups related entries by topic. The cross-references, Reader's Guide, and a comprehensive index combine within the electronic version to provide robust search and browse capabilities, making it easy for students to search for specific and related topics. A Chronology in the front matter provides students with historical perspective on the study of social networks.
