Abstract: Scholars have largely described how to create value with open source software by means of open or hybrid business models. Thanks to an exploratory study among open source observers, this research depicts a third type of business models. These models are based on hijacking strategies which are aimed at using various technological means to violate or bypass the rules of OSS licenses.
