Abstract: The article presents insights into the history and evolution of French insurance market. It informs that since inception the French insurance market has been governed by a high degree state of supervision and has also underwent many modifications such as creation of corporate liability insurance regarding work related accidents. It also manifests that the market is more influenced by the European insurance industry norms.
