Abstract:
Which management for the Corse pig breed as a local resource becoming an asset when mobilized by a PDO project "Corsican processed meat", in order to assess the link of the product with the "terroir"? We purchased interviews with the main actors and a participant observation of the activity of the breeder association as well as the PDO applicants' board. We analyzed tensions dealing with breeding goals of the local breed, availability of breeding animals and ownership of genetic resource.
