Abstract: We make, more and more frequently, the users participate in the choices of development. This association of the stakeholders has to allow to overtake the functional approach which prevailed until the 80s and which reasoned firstly the development with regard to use of places. It is not however obvious that by questioning the individuals, the latter do not reproduce the existing functional organisation. It is important to use tools or processes of putting in debate that help the individuals to question their individual preferences to adopt in fine a more collective perspective. Our paper leans on a study led with the actors of a campus to know the elements which they consider important to protect or on the contrary being able to be sacrified in a future project of development (extension) of the campus. The results contrasted by a mode of questioning in spontaneous then assisted (mobilizing the methodology of the Logico-Hierarchical Evaluation) illustrate the importance of the mode of questioning on the type of revealed preferences.
