Abstract:
The main work of the Scottish philosopher Adam Smith is a book tilted "Research on Nature and tee Causes of the wealth of Nations ". It was published 10 years after his stay in France. This book is considered the seminal work of the economic science regarding its most classic version. The big question for Smith covers the mechanisms of wealth creation in the civilized world at least. He identifies as the first cause: The Labor Factor. In Human rhetoric, he supported his argument with an example. He had chosen the practical case of a pin factory. Universal example because it is more than a personal experience, it is an article from the Encyclopedia. The Scottish philosopher has studied the French literature during his stay in France (1764-1766). Nowadays, after two centuries of economic sciences we may questioned the findings of Smith. He formalized in a first very theoretical sense, the phenomena of the added value, but he does not argue nor about the type of organization of the factory pin neither about the best method of distribution for the wealth created by the workers. Should the the wealth returned to the contractor or to the workers? On a Social Economy point of view , this lack of choice reinforces the idea that the cooperative form is fully and completely part of the so-called classical economy.
