Marchés contestables, différenciation des produits et discrimination des prix

Post-Print from HAL
Abstract:
The article is concerned with a spatial competition framework in perfect contestable markets. Two types of sustainability are distinguished. A weak form (with an invariant price strategy) and a strong form. The Baumol-Panzar-Willig results are not valid in a spatial context. Marginal production cost pricing is not a sufficient condition for a weak sustainability. It is socially inefficient. Uniform delivered pricing is socially efficient and sustainable in a weak form. Additional conditions are necessary for a strong form. Gene-rally, a spatial sustainable configuration implies priee discrimination. The results are opposed to theorical fondations of deregulation policies.
