Abstract:
This study aims to explore an emerging domain in the field of management science: the use of virtual reality tools in the recruitment process. We take a particular interest in the growing use of serious games in firms. This increasing use, which is particularly reflected in the managerial press, seems to be linked to a considerable evolution, in part driven by the technological revolution, and by the desire of certain firms to implement innovative procedures to encourage targeted candidatures and efficiently select the applicants. Our review of the literature, undertaken in the field of management sciences, but also in the domains of media-based learning and the use of video games, and supplemented by an explorative study, undertaken with experts, following the Delphi method, enabled us to show the psychological and managerial challenges connected with the use of serious games in the recruitment process, and to identify a certain number of potentially profitable research directions in the field of human resources management.
