Abstract:
In a context of increasing competition between European ports, the port reform deployed in France since 2008 aims at giving Major Seaports ways to get directly involved in the design of sustainable supply chains. The implementation of territorial logistical structure projects by Major Seaports implies, on one hand, a reflection on their role in international supply chains and, on the other hand, a renewal of the way their performance has been traditionally viewed. This article focuses on the changes that French Major Seaports (strategic vision and positioning) must adopt to achieve the reform objectives in terms of sustainable competitiveness of the companies and, more globally, of the territories.
