Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of time pressure on information processing. To clarify time-restricted information processing, an experiment was conducted among 520 consumers of laptops using the procedure of Information Display Board. The study shows that the intensity of time pressure has a non-linear influence on the rhythm of information processing, leads to the selection of the most important information and changes slightly the decision-making strategy adopted by the consumer. The use of three levels of time pressure (none, moderate and high) reveals that the adaptation between time pressure and its dependent variables is a nonlinear process.
