Abstract:
It remains unclear how specific is the fresh produce department marketing and how high is its impact on sales. Using the case study method, we provide a new analysis of the factors influencing the performance of the department. We highlight the crucial role of department well-keeping, shrinkage control, internal logistics and procurement. Findings invite to a further analysis of team management practices, performance criteria selection, and the buying role of a department manager.
