Abstract: This paper introduces an approach in order to evaluate the level of tacit knowledge consideration within an information system. The presented approach relies on unexpected theories in the area of information systems assessment such as ethnographic workplace study and incommensurability of interpretative frameworks seen as the source of communication breakdown within information systems. Relying on the measurement framework from the international standard ISO/IEC 15504, we propose an approach in order to evaluate how much tacit knowledge is considered within an information system. A case study will illustrate the use of this approach, which is currently tested within several large companies, and could be improved in future works, what is discussed at the end of this paper.
