After Rawls

D'après Rawls

Speranta Dumitru

Post-Print from HAL

Abstract: Is it fair to tax overtime? Is the search for alternative indicators of social well-being to gross domestic product influenced by the thinking of John Rawls? This issue is devoted to an analysis of John Rawls's egalitarian ideal in its institutional and political dimensions. In one of his most famous articles, made available here in French, John Rawls clarified his conception of the measurement of inequality and its philosophical significance. The contributors to this volume - economists, sociologists and philosophers - assess the topicality and institutional use of this conception of equality.
