Abstract:
Managing Virtual Teams provides a comprehensive and updated review of the existing global knowledge on virtual team management, with the essential keys for overall understanding, available for researchers, practitioners, consultants, teachers or any individual dealing with virtual teams. Based on a unique way to approach virtual team management using the text-analysis method developed by one of its authors, it consolidates the results from both academic and practitioners' sources about virtual team inputs, processes and outcomes. Managing Virtual Teams addresses the particular processes of virtual teams, not only technological-focused but also socio-emotional, including the specific managerial attitudes required in virtual environments seeking well-performing teams. The book demonstrates how academic research can be practically used to successfully manage businesses in a virtual context. Guidelines for managerial practices and case studies relate research results to concrete analysis and situations.
